In 2005, I strapped a large backpacking backpack on and went solo to Europe in search of a cure for my depression, and also as a way to subject myself to the unknown; hoping to return as a completely different version of myself.
For the most part, I was successful. I came back with a new sense of adventure and a broader perspective on life. I was also now dragging my lust for traveling the world and experiencing cultures while making new friends.
This trip was the first time I realized I didn’t just want to see the world—I wanted to live in it. I also found a new reason to travel, realizing that smells can instantly bring you back to memory.
